Europa League: Durosinmi nominated for matchday one best goal award

Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi has been nominated for the UEFA Europa League matchday one Goal of the Day award.

Durosinmi scored a superb goal in Plzen’s 1-1 draw with Ferencváros of Norway on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old netted the game’s curtain raiser in the 16th minute.

The forward raced towards goal after receiving a pass, and beat his marker before unleashing a superb volley into the back of the net.

It was his seventh goal in 13 appearances for Plzen this season.

Aleksandar Pešić equalised for Ferencváros in stoppage time.

Three other players are in contention in for the Goal of the Day award.
