Nicolas Jackson came off the bench to score twice as Chelsea hammered Djurgarden 4-1 in the first leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final on Thursday.

By the time Jackson was introduced into the game, the Blues were already two goals up.

Jadon Sancho forced home the opener in the 12th minute of the first half, before Noni Madueke doubled the lead with a fine finish.

Filip Jorgensen had to make sharp stops either side of the break.

Jackson came on and pounced on a mix-up at the back and then fired home his second to put Chelsea four clear.

The home fans had omething to cheer when 18-year-old Isak Alemayehu headed in his first senior goal.

Adam Stahl badly miscued from close range when Djurgarden had a chance to further cut the deficit.

The result sees Enzo Maresca’s men take a huge step towards booking their place in the May 28 final in Warsaw.
