Today, Macclesfield announced that the 21-year-old had won their fan-voted monthly award for his headed equalizer against Kings Lynn Town on December 10.
This was the third and final goal he scored for the non-league team in his seven appearances.
Macclesfield stated on X: “December’s Goal of the Month, as voted by you, has been lovingly awarded to Ethan McLeod for his headed equalizer against Kings Lynn Town.
“Forever in our hearts, Ethan.”
McLeod joined the Premier League club's academy at the age of seven and later played for their Under-21s in the Trophy.
Originally from Birmingham, he also had loan spells with non-league teams Alvechurch, Rushall Olympic, and Stourbridge.
He joined Macclesfield, who compete in England’s sixth tier, in July after a successful trial.
McLeod also participated in the league, representing VZN FC in season one.
Following his passing, Macclesfield released a statement saying: “Ethan’s professionalism and steadfast work ethic inspired everyone, and his zest for life brought smiles to our faces—even on the darkest days.
“The profound emotional scars left by Ethan’s passing will undoubtedly never heal; however, one certainty remains: Ethan’s vibrant legacy will never diminish, regardless of how much time passes.”
