The Chairman of the Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammed Gambo, has declared his party’s commitment to reclaiming Lugard House in the 2027 elections.

In a statement released on Friday in Lokoja, Gambo compared the All Progressives Congress (APC) to “individuals residing in a rented apartment” and forecasted a significant victory for the PDP in a transparent election.

“The time for the All Progressives Congress has come to an end. The people of Kogi should remain steadfast in their support for the PDP, which boasts robust party structures and a proven history of progress in the state,” the statement partially read.

He urged for peace, compliance with the law, and collaboration on security issues, stressing that “Kogi is a PDP state.”

Gambo also conveyed his confidence that the PDP is actively reinforcing its structures nationwide, with ambitions that reach as far as Aso Rock.

“In a free and fair election, the PDP will achieve a landslide victory. Our structures are resilient both in Kogi and throughout Nigeria,” he stated, reminiscing about the party’s previous governance as a time of prosperity.

He added, “The moment has arrived for the APC government to vacate Lugard House in 2027.”

“This is a call for no retreat, no surrender.” Gambo encouraged citizens to remain loyal to the PDP, support security initiatives, and maintain peace and lawfulness.

“It is regrettable that insecurity has become a prevalent issue, but as a party, we are prepared to work with the government on security matters, because a state must exist before any political party,” he emphasized.

Concluding with hope, Gambo reaffirmed that the PDP will reclaim Lugard House in 2027, noting that Kogi State has consistently been a PDP stronghold since 1999.
