Former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, recommended a Premier League midfielder to his former club while he was still their head coach.
According to Diario Gol, Zidane, who led Real Madrid to three UEFA Champions League triumphs, had recommended the Los Blancos board to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.
Tielemans was impressive for Leicester City last season which greatly increased interest in his services from top European clubs.
With Real Madrid still looking to bolster their midfield, Tielemans has been on the club’s radar for some time.
However, Tielemans has not been a priority, with Real Madrid hierarchy looking to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund instead.
Real Madrid have already signed players like Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, but more depth is required. Hence, they are revisiting Zidane’s recommendation.
