Chelsea legend, John Terry, has congratulated Reece James on his appointment as the club’s latest new captain.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino had on Wednesday made James the club’s new captain.
The England defender replaces Cesar Azpilicueta, who left Stamford Bridge this summer to join Atletico Madrid.
Following his appointment, James wrote on Instagram, expressing his happiness and promising to “do everything he can to help lead Chelsea club in the right direction and back to winning titles.”
Responding to James’ post, Terry wrote: “Congratulations @reecejames.”
Also reacting, Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk wrote, “Well deserved.”
On his part, Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell said: “Congrats my brother, deserved!”
Similarly, Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka wrote, “RJ, Congrats big bro.”
Also, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson added, “Congratulations Capi.”
