Tottenham have confirmed that midfielder Dele Alli will return to the club this weekend ahead of their important match against Arsenal.
Spurs called Dele one of the most popular players in modern times.
Dele Alli is coming back to N17 as a special guest on Sunday and will talk to pitch-side presenter Paul Coyle during halftime.
It is the latest former star from the highly praised Mauricio Pochettino era to be shown to fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Jan Vertonghen recently displayed in front of the supporters.
Former captain Heung-min Son made his return for the first time since leaving in the summer, helping his team win the Champions League against Slavia Prague.
Dele was a key part of some of Spurs’ most important moments during his seven years in North London, playing with players like Vertonghen, Son, Harry Kane, and Christian Eriksen, and scored 67 goals in 269 matches.
He is currently not with any team, after leaving Como at the end of the last season. Before that, he played for Everton and Besiktas after leaving Tottenham in early 2022.
This will be new manager Igor Tudor’s first match in charge, after Thomas Frank was sacked.
Spurs are in a relegation fight and really need to earn some points urgently.
They are currently five points ahead of West Ham, who are in 18th place, and two points ahead of Nottingham Forest, who are in 17th place.
