Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is concerned about how closely Manchester City has approached Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

The Englishman is also apprehensive about the Gunners’ injury challenges as they pursue a long-awaited title under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal, who were favored to secure the title this season after years of disappointment, have dropped points in three of their last five matches. They drew 2-2 with Sunderland, 1-1 with ten-man Chelsea, and lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in their latest games.

Currently, the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table has diminished to just two points ahead of Manchester City.

Although Ferdinand, who won the Premier League title six times with Manchester United, still believes this will be Arsenal’s season, he is worried about how the Gunners are losing their grip on the title despite being ‘average this season’.

“Arsenal are only two points ahead of Man City, who have also been average this season, and three points ahead of Aston Villa,” Ferdinand stated on his YouTube channel.

“Arsenal fans experience such highs and lows; it’s astonishing. I still believe Arsenal will win the league. I truly do.

“The injuries are severely impacting Arsenal, but I still think they will clinch the title. I believe they will cross the finish line, and this could mark the beginning of something special for that team.”
