EPL: Rio Ferdinand names four Players Man Utd shouldn’t have sold

Published on May 20, 2025 at 07:21 PM

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has named four players the Red Devils should not have sold in the past.

The players are Rafael da Silva, Danny Welbeck, Chicharito, and Fabio da Silva.

Ferdinand also criticized Manchester United’s recruitment since former manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Speaking about the recent transfer strategy of the Red Devils, Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel: “There are players I’d have kept.

“Welbeck, Chicharito, Rafael, and Fabio. Has anyone come into those positions and done better than what they’d have done?

“There are no full-backs who’ve come in and done much better than Rafael or Fabio,”;; he said.

Ferdinand added that he was also “surprised”;; United allowed Chicharito and Welbeck to leave the club in their prime.
