EPL: ‘It’d be better when you win trophies’ – Calafiori on regretting joining Arsenal

Published on May 20, 2025 at 07:19 PM

Arsenal star Riccardo Calafiori has spoken about his alleged regret for joining Arsenal.

The midfielder was responding to a question on his stint at the Emirates Stadium, where he did not make much impact.

However, the Italian said he does not regret moving to the North London side despite their failure to win trophies this term.

He said, however, that winning silverware would make his stay at the club better.

Speaking with Intera Gianluca Di Marzio, Calafiori responded to a question on whether he regrets joining Mikel Arteta’s side.

“For me personally, it was a great experience. Obviously, when you win trophies, it’s always better,”;; he said.

He added that he was happy and proud to have played in the English Premier League, which, according to him, is the most difficult league in the world.

“I am convinced of the choice I made. Any regrets? None, absolutely,”;; he said.

Calafiori has been linked with a potential return to Italy in recent weeks, with AC Milan a possible destination.

The Italian joined Arsenal from Bologna for a reported €45 million in July 2024.
