Former Liverpool player Didi Hamann has urged manager Arne Slot to remove winger Mohamed Salah from his starting lineup.

Hamann believes that Slot risks losing his job if he continues to include the Egyptian international in his squad.

He expressed his concerns while criticizing Salah for not contributing defensively during Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League 4-1 defeat to PSV at Anfield earlier this week.

“There comes a time when you have to drop players, even the big names. Slot faces a critical decision: does he risk his job by keeping Salah in the lineup or does he secure his position by excluding him?”

“Regarding Salah's involvement in the second PSV goal… I think Slot had a chance to substitute him immediately; what he did was unacceptable.”

“For a player of Salah's caliber, it pains me to say it, but the way he allowed the opponent to bypass him without making any effort to assist the team was disgraceful,” Hamann stated to RTE Sport.

Salah played a crucial role in helping Liverpool secure the Premier League title last season.
