Liverpool defender, Virgil van Dijk has opened up on how they stopped Manchester City’s Erling Haaland from scoring against them on Sunday.
The Norway international has scored a stunning 15 goals in just nine games since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund.
But the Reds became just the second Premier League team to shut out Haaland this season.
Van Dijk was at the heart of Liverpool’s defence, with Joe Gomez and James Milner both starting.
“That’s what defenders have to do, try it, yeah carry on. That’s what you have to do every game, you drop off a slight percentage, they will punish you.
“We did very well, important to get the clean sheet and move on so we’re focusing on West Ham,” Van Dijk told Sky Sports.
