Chelsea legend che has said that if the club does not meet Cole Palmer’s goals, the player might decide to leave.

However, he urged the attacker to “respect” the club, noting that the Blues have supported him during some difficult moments.

Desailly highlighted the player’s injury problems and told Daily Mail:

“If Cole Palmer chooses to leave Chelsea, that’s up to him, but I just want him to respect the club, because they are the ones who helped him become the player he is today.

“I think Palmer is looking for more stability and a team setup that suits him, but he still needs to fully recover from his groin injury and return to full fitness.

“His recent games show what he’s capable of, so he should stay humble and return to the team to support the club, no matter if he stays or leaves.”

The former French defender added: “The main thing is whether he thinks Chelsea will win the Premier League in the next two years.

“If he doesn’t, I’m sure he’ll ask to move to a team that will create a system around him. For now, however, he needs to reach his past performance levels to help Chelsea and support their new manager during this time.”

Palmer helped the Blues win the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

They are currently sixth in the Premier League after 22 games this season and remain in all three cup competitions.
