Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante, is set to miss the next three months of football with a hamstring injury, ruling him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Kante picked up his latest injury in training this week, having only just returned to fitness from an injury he sustained in Chelsea’s Premier League 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in August.
Providing an injury update on Kante, Chelsea manager Graham Potter described the player’s injury as: “Not good news”.
Potter said this in his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Aston Villa on Sunday.
“He is due to see a consultant at the weekend. It is a setback, but I can’t give you anything more at this stage,” Potter added.
“It is a setback at this stage of this rehab which is worrying, but all we can do is get the right diagnosis, get the right consultation, and try and help him get back to full fitness and enjoying his football.”
However, according to The Athletic, the France international is not likely to be back on the pitch until next year.
