ENGLAND fans will be hit by extortionate parking fees at the World Cup this summer in another huge financial blow.

Matchgoing supporters have already been forced to fork out hundreds of pounds on tickets – not including travel and accomodation.

And for those looking to drive to each fixture, hundreds more will have to be spent just on parking.

However, it has been revealed that parking around the venue will cost £110 ($150) for a car and £442 ($600) for ‘oversized vehicles’ due to reduced spaces.

Parking spots have been cut from the usual 20,000 to just 5,000 to allow for increased security perimeters.

Fans have also been told to arrive at the stadium over an hour before kick-off.

A statement from FIFA read: “Gates open three hours before kickoff.

“We recommend arriving in the stadium area at least 90 minutes early to allow for security searches and travel time.”

Meanwhile, the long-established US pre-game tradition of tailgating in parking areas has been banned.

It’s described as a ‘key social ritual for fans to gather, often bringing grills, chairs, and music to create a festive atmosphere’ ahead of games – but FIFA chiefs will not allow it.

It comes after Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) confirmed that to £60 ($80) for tourists.

There are no MBTA bus or subway services to the stadium, leaving fans with few travel options.

Fans will also have to at MetLife Stadium – which has been renamed to New York New Jersey Stadium.

England face Croatia in their opening match in Dallas on June 17 before taking on Ghana in Boston six days later.

The Three Lions will then play Panama in their final group stage game in New York-New Jersey on June 27.
