How Emma McVey REALLY feels about ex Gaz Beadle’s baby joy – insiders reveal jealousy claims & desperately sad birthday

WHEN Emma McVey headed to Center Parcs this weekend, she had no idea her birthday weekend was about to be completely overshadowed.

As she turned 34 alongside her fiance and two children, her ex-husband , known as Gaz, and what should have been a lovely few days was tinged with sadness.

Just three years ago the model-turned-influencer was still married to the star, but, just months after she underwent heart surgery, Gaz, 38, announced their eight-year relationship was over. She has since got engaged to electrician James Staszewsky and he has started a family with nurse Maia, who is 14 years his junior.

I’m told Emma has been left frustrated and upset after learning that whispers of jealousy and vindictive behaviour have been circulating and have hijacked a happy occasion, fueling the underlying tension between her and her ex.

Eyebrows were raised as her two children with Gaz, Chester, eight and Primrose, six, were nowhere to be seen as their new sibling arrived into the world.

A source explained: “Emma planned to go away for her birthday this year. Gary’s partner Maia was overdue, so she thought the baby would have been there by the time it came around.

“She stuck to her plans and it actually gave Gary and Maia time to settle with their little one.

“Emma has well moved on from Gary but of course there is some part of her that feels a bit sad about him having a baby with someone else, it’s only natural.

“She is incredibly maternal and isn’t sure if she could physically have another child herself because of health issues, so it is bittersweet.”

Instead, the kids were plastered all over her social media in what some have suggested are pointed messages.

Indeed, on the day that Gary and Maia, 24, welcomed their baby girl, Emma shared a post dedicated to Primrose, writing that she was the daughter she had always dreamed of.

Any negative comments beneath the post were swiftly deleted, and Emma made sure to reply to any comments about Primrose being ‘the best big sister’, with a series of heart emojis.

The insider added: “She did want to make a point with her post about Primrose – it’s never easy for kids to have a new sibling, especially when parents split up and she wanted her to feel special.

“It’s very upsetting for Emma that people have been talking about her and accusing her of trying to steal the limelight on her birthday.

“Unfortunately, it’s going to be the same every year now and Emma is going to have to navigate how to celebrate while allowing Chester and Primrose to be with their sister.

“But there really is no jealousy there whatsoever. She is a brilliant mum and is happy for Gary.”

It was almost a week until Chester and Primrose finally got to meet their little sister, sparking outrage from trolls, who made wild claims that Emma had kept them away.

Proud dad Gary introduced baby Maeve to the world and gushed: “We have counted down the months then the weeks then the days your little sister is finally here and they were the first to hold her… a moment we will cherish for ever.”

Quizzed by fans about how she felt about the new arrival, Emma shared: “I don’t normally answer things about my ex out of respect, I find it really odd that so many people constantly write to me and him about each of us tbh. Would you go up to a random person and ask about their ex? or comment on their photos about their ex?

“It blows my mind but seen as so many of you are eager to know and it’s probably not the answer you want if you like gossip. I’m happy for them, she’s very cute! The kids love her and Prim wanted to bring her home.”

Having another child is not thought to be on Emma’s radar though.

Prior to her open-heart surgery in early 2023, doctors advised her against having a third child due to a congenital heart defect (three holes in her heart) and colitis. They explained that carrying another pregnancy before repairing her heart was high-risk.

During her marriage to Gaz, both agreed that having a boy and a girl felt like a complete family unit, especially after navigating stressful health issues when their children were babies.

Only a couple of years ago, Gaz he wouldn’t be having more kids: “Two is hard enough. I think if you asked us before we may have said three but that was before we realised how hard it is.

“If we had two boys or two girls, then maybe it would be different but we have one of each, which is perfect.”

But a lot has changed since then – most notably she has fallen for a new man, who popped the question in August 2025 during a trip to Marbella after just a year of dating.

She has made no secret of how amazing he is with children and when they got engaged she told fans she had said yes to “the man who’s taken on both me and my children and treats them like his own”.

Emma was hit with backlash for moving on, with one fan even accusing her of being unfaithful.

She shot back with a jibe that appeared to be aimed at Gaz: “I was unfaithful? What with someone I met 7 months after my separation? No darlin, you clearly have NO IDEA who was unfaithful.”

Gaz insisted they are “really good friends” and that they are both “happy and happy for one another” despite being in “new relationships”.

He added: “Both of us are in new relationships and we all get along well, and we can say we are so proud of ourselves to be able to all stay as one team.”

Just this week, Emma offered her advice on co-parenting for fans, writing: “Put the kids first even if it wasn’t a break up on good terms. Kids aren’t stupid, they pick up on everything and ïf you want them to be happy and settled in both houses put your differences aside.

“I don’t think it’s fair at all when kids have to suffer just because their parents didn’t work out I think it can be hard enough as it is for them.”

While Emma and Gaz both co-parent well, insiders have said there are some negative feelings bubbling beneath the surface at all times.

They said: “There is a worry that the new baby is just going to exacerbate or highlight any issues between the former couple.

“Gary will have a lot on his plate now and Emma will have to navigate it all very carefully.

“Their main priority is the kids and making sure they are happy – even if it does ruffle their own feathers and make things uncomfortable.

“In the past people have accused them both of trying to one up each other and will that stop now? Only time will tell.”

Emma currently homeschools both children.

Emma and Gaz first started in 2016, but just a year later, they called time on their relationship, with Emma accusing Gaz of cheating and dumping her by text.

But the pair reconciled and went on to have two children and a lavish wedding.

Gary appeared to be a very different man – his wild Geordie Shore days were well in the past.

He once boasted about sleeping with over 1000 women – his tumultuous relationship with was well documented – but after quitting the show in 2017, he turned his life around.

He after eight years away, though in a far cry from his wild days on the show, he did it all sober.

Despite his more mature behaviour, Gaz said Maia won’t follow him into a reality TV career.

He told The Sun: “She won’t come onto the show because she’s got her own, like she’s worked hard to go to uni, get qualified and she’s a nurse.

“It’s amazing and she loves that job – she’s in a totally different world and I wouldn’t want to ever jeopardise that as well.

“It’s not the most professional thing, is it?”

As Gary steps into fatherhood for the third time and Emma builds a new chapter with James, it’s claimed the dynamic between them still remains delicate.

Gaz might insist they are ‘one team’ but will they make it through this ultimate test unscathed?
