Emiliano Martinez's Fiery Confrontation with Arsenal Fans After Aston Villa Loss

A video captured by a fan of the Argentine walking down the tunnel after the full-time whistle showed him reacting angrily as fans goaded him.

Martinez initially responded with a smile before looking like he was about to turn to face the fans of his former club.

He had to be dragged away from escalating the confrontation as one fan was heard shouting: “You’re not dancing now are you?”

Many fans do not have much fondness in their hearts for Martinez anymore despite him spending a decade, between 2010 and 2020, with the north outfit.

Consequently many on social media were thrilled to see Martinez’s reaction, with one saying: “Emi Martinez rattled aren’t you?”

A second said: “Cherry on top.”

Another said: “Sensational footage.”

A fourth added: “For someone who rattles people, Emi sure can’t handle it well can he?”

A fifth said: “You don’t understand how much I needed to see him rattled. He’s had my head hot a few times before so this is just fair.”

The World Cup winner took to social media after the match, but did not address the situation with fans.

Instead choosing to take a swipe at an apparent elbow by Gabriel for the opener by sharing a picture of the goal.

He captioned the post: “The best team won today, we still in good position for the 2nd part of the season. #elbowallow.”
