SIR Elton John is still being a right old maudlin Mary - and has confessed one of the songs on his new album is about him dying.
He said: “I wrote a song at the end of the album and I got Bernie Taupin's lyrics called When This Old World Is Done With Me.

“And so I’m writing the verse, like, ‘Oh, this is really pretty’. And then I get to the chorus and of course it’s about my death.”;
He added on the Smartless podcast: “And when you get to my age, which is near 100, you think, ‘How much time have I got left?’
“And you’ve got children, you’ve got a wonderful husbandâ.â.â.âyou just think about mortality.
“And so when I got to the chorus, I just broke down for 45 minutes.”;
His new album, Who Believes In Angels?, with Brandi Carlile isn’t all doom and gloom though.
Elton, who will be on TV in a concert special with Brandi on ITV on April 19, added: “She inspired me to go ahead with this record and I think this is the best record I’ve made in 40 years.”;
It comes after the pop legend lost vision in his right eye in July after contracting an infection on holiday in the South of France , and admitted his left eye is “not the greatest”;.
In December he said he was unable to watch his new musical version of The Devil Wears Prada.
He added: “I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews because, as you know, I have lost my eyesight .
“But I love to hear it.”;
And interviewed on Good Morning America he said. “It kind of floored me, and I can’t see anything.
“ I can’t read anything , I can’t watch anything.”;
