An African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Ayodele David-Adesua, has urged voters not to be misled again by gifts of rice and cash from politicians.
David-Adesua made this statement in his hometown of Ijesa Isu Ekiti on Saturday as he officially announced his intention to seek the ADC governorship nomination.
“Do not be swayed by bags of rice and small cash handouts during the election campaign, as these may lead people to abandon their choice of a capable leader. Reject these temptations and vote wisely for the development of our state in the upcoming election.
“The consequences of being influenced by rice and other material gifts, as well as cash tokens during elections, have consistently resulted in incompetent leadership, poor governance, and a lack of development, which is evident in Ekiti today,” he stated.
He praised the party leadership, fellow governorship aspirants, and members and supporters present at the event, noting that it showcased the unity, cohesion, quality, and readiness to assume power in the state for the 2026 election.
