Ekiti Gov, Oyebanji formally declares second term bid

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has formally declared his intention to contest for a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Oyebanji made the declaration on Monday during a meeting with members of the State Working Committee of the APC held at the party secretariat in Ado-Ekiti.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had announced June 20, 2026 for the governorship election in Ekiti.

The governor emphasized the need to consolidate on the gains of his administration.

He thanked party leadership for the trust and confidence in his administration, stressing that he has fulfilled all his campaign promises to the people of Ekiti.

He further stated that his administration would continue to accord party leadership the honour and recognition they deserve as elder statesmen and foundational pillars of the party.
