EDERSON says that Pep Guardiola has asked him to return to Manchester City for a proper goodbye after moving to Fenerbahce.
The Brazilian keeper ended an incredible eight-year stay at the Etihad this summer, having won 18 trophies under Guardiola, including six Premier League titles and the club’s .

But the 32-year-old admits his move to Turkey happened so quickly that he barely had the chance to speak to his boss,
told The Sun: “The conversation I had with Pep is difficult to explain now because I had to speak to him on the phone, after games there’s no time to talk as he’s always busy.
“When he got back to me, he said, ‘You have to come to say a proper goodbye.’ Then the day he sent me a message about how many wins I have in my career.
“But I love Pep, and I love him for his mentality. He’s the best coach of our time for me. It was a pleasure to work with him.”
The Brazil international, who joined City from in 2017, also admitted he’d been thinking about a new challenge for some time and that uncertainty took a toll on him last season.
He said: “Even the season before this one, I had already thought about leaving, but it didn’t happen.
“I think that affected my performance , I had five injuries and wasn’t at my best. That made me realise I needed a change.”
Now settled in Istanbul, Ederson says he’s rediscovered his spark and is relishing the atmosphere of Turkish as he aims to fire back to glory.
He added: “There’s no point staying at a big, successful club if you’re not happy, it’ll affect you anyway.
“Sometimes, new challenges are good for your life and career.

“With this move, I’m breathing football again, feeling the incredible atmosphere in Turkish matches.
“I’m very happy with this challenge and eager to win.”
