EASTENDERS fans think they have spotted a legendary character making a shock Christmas comeback after drone footage caught them on set.
The soap is well-known for its explosive episodes and if fans are right then this year’s will see a reunion between two former enemies.

Drone footage taken over the Elstree set of the show shows a snippet of filming on the famous Square.
But eagle-eyed fans reckon they have spotted a beloved character from an iconic family making her comeback.
A blonde woman in a cream coat is filming a scene outside the cafe – and fans are sure it is actress Kim Medcalf returning as Sam Mitchell.
There are other blonde women in the cast who it could be – including Cindy Beale star Michelle Collins and her on-screen mother-in-law Kathy Beale actress Gillian Taylforth.
But fans are convinced they can tell the difference and that Sam is back in the Square for Christmas.
A source said: “It would be a dream come true to get Kim back as Sam after Zoe’s return.
“The pair have a lot of history together worth exploring and the show has really been missing some female Mitchell energy.”
Actress Kim last appeared in January 2024 after a lengthy stint as Sam before the character left to go and chase her fortune abroad after being disowned by brother Phil.
One fan wrote: “This is AMAZING if it’s true and I want to her to stay long term not just a stint. The Mitchell’s need that strong female that it’s been lacking.”
A second said: “It does very much look like Sam and she has the same Jacket as her.”
Another added: “I’m almost certain that’s Sam and i’ve had a feeling she’s gonna return.”
An spokeswoman declined to comment on the story.
The news of a fan favourite return will be welcomed by EastEnders fans after the soap failed to win Best Soap at this year’s Inside Soap Awards.
The awards are the only soap awards that are solely decided by viewers who vote in every category.
