AN EASTENDERS legend has teased her return after she gushed over her “wonderful” soap character.

The star, 45, left the fan-favourite programme in December 2022 after playing her iconic role on and off from 1999.

The beloved actress portrays the role of feisty Janine Butcher, a character who is currently banged up in jail.

Charlie discussed with GMB’s entertainment reporter about how Janine will be released in “about a year”.

This prompted GMB host to say: “OK! Out in about a year … sounds like Richard knows about the future script,” to which he replied: “Well you could get out earlier, you never know”.

Charlie then teased: “I get asked this question all the time, I love Janine, I love playing her she’s a wonderful character, I always get blessed with such great storylines.

“So who knows.
