AN EASTENDERS character has stunned his family by making a surprise return after 10 years away.
The identity of the character was confirmed tonight after he featured mysteriously in the New Year’s Day flashforward earlier this month.

at the end of today’s episode by turning up at his uncle Phil Mitchell’s house.
Mark is the son of Grant Mitchell and Michelle Fowler.
“Mark?” said a stunned Phil.
The man then stumbled into Phil’s hallway, battered and bruised before falling onto his stairs.
“Hello uncle Phil,” he said.
Actor Stephen Aaron-Sipple has taken on the role of Mark from star Ned Porteous who last appeared in 2016.
He joined the cast in October but was kept a secret by bosses.
He has already made his debut when he appeared in the recent New Years Day flashforward episode, placing him at the centre of the Branning’s unfolding drama – however it wasn’t confirmed who he was playing.
A by revealing the character’s name was Mark.
It is not yet known why Mark has returned to Walford and what he has been up to in the time he has been away.

But with him turning up on Phil’s doorstep in clear trouble, it’s set to be dramatic.
Actor Stephen said: “Having grown up in East London, has been in my life since childhood and I’m excited to be joining not one, but two iconic Albert Square families!
“I’m looking forward to viewers seeing why Mark is back, and what Walford has in store for him.”

“Viewers had a glimpse of Mark in the New Years Day flashforward episode, with the circumstances around his upcoming involvement with the Brannings set to unfold throughout the year.”
