"Chaos in Moscow: Suicide Drones Attack as Trump Meets Zelensky and North Korea Bolsters Putin with 30,000 Troops"

UKRAINE unleashed a swarm of suicide drones on Moscow hours before Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump are due to meet today.

Nearly 400 unmanned aircraft overwhelmed the sky over Russia’s capital and the wider region – as mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that “most” had been intercepted.

Flames engulfed a logistics warehouse at Podolsk, and an apartment block in Chekhov was also hit.

The strike in Podolsk on the e 3PL logistics company was close to a massive warehouse belonging to Wildberries – Russia’s version of Amazon – which appeared undamaged.

While Ukraine has stepped up attacks on Russian retail warehouses as well as large oil refineries, the war-torn country is running out of desperately-needed air defence.

Amid improving relations with US President Donald Trump he will seek tougher sanctions against Putin.

Zelensky is also calling for urgent anti-ballistic defence missiles to protect Ukrainians from Russian attack.

“Our top priority is anti-ballistic defence and strategic cooperation with America. Peace must come closer,” he said.

At a previous meeting in Washington in October 2025, Zelensky failed to convince Trump to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles.

And during heated exchanges in the Oval Office in February that year, both raised their voices during an argument in the full glare of television cameras.

The US leader has since changed his tone and during their last encounter in Turkey earlier this month, he offered words of encouragement, saying he had done “an amazing job”.

It comes as North Korea reaffirmed its support for Russia’s war on Ukraine as the nations’ foreign ministers met in Moscow.

Russia reportedly plans to enlist 30,000 North Korean soldiers for a full offensive in Ukraine, Zelesky said over the weekend.

But it is not the first time Ukrainian officials have sounded the alarm on the nations cooperation.

Pyongyang has sent troops to Russia’s embattled Kursk region and supplied Moscow with weapons systems, in return securing financial assistance, food, energy supplies and military technology, analysts say.

Kim Jong Un last travelled to Russia in September 2023, and Putin made a rare visit to Pyongyang in June 2024.
