DONNA Air has heartbreakingly revealed that her beloved dad has passed away following a battle with cancer.

Describing his death as the “hardest thing”, Donna penned: “One week without you, Dad.
“Nothing feels quite right since you’ve gone.
“Saying goodbye was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I take comfort in knowing we were together, that you felt loved, and that you are no longer suffering.
“Cancer is such a cruel disease. Watching it take so much from you, and seeing the pain you endured, has broken my heart. It’s also been life-changing to witness how many families are walking this same path.”

Continuing to remember the good times with her dad, the Byker Grove star continued to describe him as her “favourite dance partner”.
She said: “I’m going to miss you so very much, your silly sense of humour (even at the end), your cheeky smile, your inappropriate jokes, and our shared love of music, nature, and freedom.
“I’ll miss talking to you, sharing stories and ideas, and dancing together.
“You believed in the simple things in life, that we are all equal being’s, that we should share this world with kindness respect, and love.”
Signing off her post, Donna concluded: “I’m so grateful to the pallative care team at Wansbeck hospital, which has been like a second home these past six months, and to the kindness and support of our dear friend’s. I think you hold the record for busiest bedside at the hospital, taking notes, and bossing us all around with your very niche requests.
“But most of all, I’m grateful to you dad. For the life you gave me, the sacrifices you made, memories shared, and for fighting as hard as you did so we could have more moments together.
“You will always be my favourite dance partner. X”
Donna and later went on to star in TV shows such as The Split, whilst being known for
Her dad, Trevor, worked as an engineer but had a passion for music and motorbikes.
Donna also has a close bond with her mother, Marie, who was Trevor’s childhood sweetheart as the pair welcomed Donna as teenagers.
