The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, welcomed the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff along with the service chiefs during their first courtesy visit to his office at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

This information was shared in a statement by the Minister's Personal Assistant for Media and Publicity, Mati Ali, on Tuesday in Abuja.

As per the statement, the delegation was led by Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and included Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal SK Aneke.

“This visit highlights the Minister’s dedication to fostering a unified defence leadership built on trust, collaboration, and a common goal.

“It also marks the beginning of a renewed effort towards a cohesive strategy and decisive actions to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and national interests, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement concluded.
