Published on May 12, 2025 at 05:14 AM

The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised the current crop of Labour Party lawmakers.

The activist noted that the lawmakers in both chambers of the national assembly have aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

DAILY POST report that the Labour Party has lost some of its members to either the APC or the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The likes of Tochukwu Okere (Imo), Donatus Mathew (Kaduna), Bassey Akiba (Cross River), and Iyawe Esosa (Edo), among others have all defected to the ruling party.

Sowore said on Channels Television, “Look at all the Labour Party people in the National Assembly — they’re not decamping back to where they came from.

“They’re decamping to the APC. That’s the point; these guys are not real. They weren’t real in 2023, and they won’t be in 2027,”;; he asserted.

Other lawmakers, who left the LP for APC include, Daulyop Fom Chollom (Plateau) representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency.

Hon Odey Brian, who represents Yala 1 State Constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly, dumped the party for the ruling APC, Ajang Iliya, representing Jos South/Jos East federal constituency, Plateau state, Daniel Chollom represents Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in Plateau State, and Senator Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi (Imo state) representing Imo East senatorial district.
