DEATH in Paradise’s future has been confirmed – a month after a worrying exit plot.
The 15th series of the hit drama saw Commissioner Selwyn Patterson return to Saint Marie, only to face backlash from locals who felt he had abandoned them when he had given up his post in the previous series.

Meanwhile lead detective Mervin Wilson was lucky to escape with his life after being kidnapped while visiting his brother Solomon in Antigua.
Both characters are now set to return to , after the BBC confirmed the show had been recommissioned for a further two series.
On top of that, fans will also get two more Christmas Specials, with Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, saying: “Death in Paradise is a global phenomenon and we are incredibly proud to have it on the BBC, where it goes from strength to strength.
“It’s with great pleasure that we share the news that we’ll be returning to Saint Marie for two more sun-soaked series and Christmas specials.”

, who plays Mervin, and Don Warrington who plays the Commissioner will be back alongside Shantol Jackson (DS Naomi Thomas), Shaquille Ali-Yebuah (Officer Sebastian Rose), Catherine Garton (Sergeant Mattie Fletcher) and Élizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey).
Death in Paradise is well known for its impressive roster of guest stars, and they will be announced in due course.
Don took over the role of the show’s lead detective from in the 2024 Christmas Special
The show began in 2011 with Ben Miller as the main detective before being followed by Kris Marshall (Series 3–6), Ardal O’Hanlon (Series 6–9) and Ralf (Series 9–13).
