has been branded the “villain” in the new series of .. Get Me Out of Here! South Africa.
This comes after his “misogynistic” comments on the show and feuds with his campmates.
However, it was that really shocked viewers after David’s controversial rant about his own girlfriend.
David’s concerning words began when he revealed that, despite thinking was pretty, she had the personality of an “ugly bird”.
was quick to react in horror and urged him to clarify what he meant, which led to David unleashing a tirade of comments about judging people on their appearance and claiming uglier girls had to work harder to be nice in order to get attention.
He explained: “Most ugly girls realise they’re not pretty enough… they’ve got to have a personality to banter and tell jokes to overlook that they’re not aesthetically amazing straight away.
“It’s called ‘ugly duckling syndrome’,” he continued. “They get prettier as they get older but they’ve still got the personality of when they were younger.
“You get a girl who was pretty from day one, everyone tells her she’s amazing, so she grows up thinking ‘I’m amazing, everyone loves me, I can open up any door, I can go anywhere I want’.
“They don’t have to have a personality, because most super-pretty girls are idiots.”
He further explained: “Their ugly friend has to work a bit harder, they need to be more personable, be more nicer to everyone, ‘can I get you a drink? Can I do this?’”
Corrie star told David: “I’ve never heard anything so sexist in my life. Where is this coming from?”
While Scarlett and looked horrified by his admission.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, former star Scarlett said it was not the first time some of David’s comments have “gone down like a lead balloon”.
Now, Scarlett has revealed to Heat magazine that she isn’t close to all her campmates and not everyone is in the group chat.
She said: “We have a group. Not everyone is in it, I’m not going to lie.
“I won’t disclose it, but for me personally, I speak to Ashley nearly every day.
“I speak to all the time, , Bev, and .
“I think you naturally gravitate towards certain people in any sort of setting like that, but they’re definitely the ones I speak to all the time.“
However, Sian – famous for being in a with David – laughed off the allegations, telling friends he “meant no harm” when he suggested attractive women are usually “idiots”.
A source close to Sian told The Sun: “Sian can see why people are upset, but he absolutely did not intend to offend anyone – it was meant as a compliment.
“He thinks of himself as a bit of a philosopher and was using the ‘ugly duck theory’ to boast about how Sian has it all – the stunning looks and killer personality.
“Sian found it really funny. She knows David has a heart of gold and worships the ground she walks on. He always treats her with the utmost respect. She doesn’t think he deserves to be labelled sexist.
“Unless you’re facing him in the ring, David hasn’t got a mean bone in his body.”
