Presenter Jacqui Oatley confirmed this decision on Sunday night during the coverage of the European Championship.

Gian van Veen emerged as the surprising victor in Germany, but fans will soon need to seek alternative sources for their darts entertainment.

Reports indicate that Matchroom Media, led by Barry and Eddie Hearn, will take over production control starting in 2026.

Sky Sports will provide its own coverage of the sport, featuring some of the most significant tournaments, while Matchroom will host events such as the World Masters, UK Open, and World Series Finals next year.

The specifics of this arrangement remain unclear, but it is widely reported that this will be the new direction.

Matchroom is also expanding into the snooker arena and will utilize their own set of hosts and staff.

This agreement allows them access to PDC events, including the Players Championship and the European Championship.

She stated: “If your football team is draining your enthusiasm and they’ve only managed to collect, say, 3 points from the last 39 available, as a random example, then tune into the #darts on ITV4 now for European Championship finals night. Both semi-finals have been fantastic, with the final to follow.”
