The Volta VT40IT Incline has been recalled over a significant risk of fire, following a fault identified in certain batches.
According to the , the defect – identified in orders placed between July 2025 to November 2025 – may cause the treadmill to overheat.
Authorities said that “if the product were to overheat, it could ignite and cause a fire”.
As a result, the product has not met the requirements of the “Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008”, and has been recalled by the brand.
Stocked in Fitness Superstore, customers have been advised to switch off their treadmill “immediately” and unplug it from the mains electricity supply.
Customers should then check the serial number located on the
underside of the treadmill’s main frame to determine whether it matches the affected batch: 04-VT40IT-50133099.
Fitness Superstore said it will arrange a free collection of the treadmill and provide a full refund if the product is found to be faulty.
Where collection cannot reasonably be arranged, the retailer added it may authorise the customer to dispose of the treadmill.
Those affected are also able to contact the Fitness Superstore recall team via their website and email address.
Produced in , the product featured handles, a display screen, pre-set workout programs, pulse measurements, and 40 different incline levels.
Retailing for £1,399, customers have previously raved about the machine, calling it a “nice piece of equipment” and a “great treadmill with a superb incline function”.
