Burn wasted no time getting stuck in, defending England’s lead, as desperately searched for a last-gasp equaliser.
Then, with fewer than 10 seconds of extra-time stoppage time remaining, the towering centre-back powered away one final header before standing over his beaten opponent to make sure he knew all about it.
The old-school piece of defending immediately went viral on social media.
One fan posted: “Dan Burn with the most English challenge ever. Let ’em know and then stand over ‘em so they’re aware.”

Burn’s stats from his late cameos highlight just how important he was in shutting down the games against and Norway.
He finished with nine clearances, two blocks and two completed passes in 24 minutes played for England at the World Cup thus far.

While Bellingham stole the headlines with his match-winning brace, Burn’s rugged defending helped make sure England’s comeback victory was safely over the line.
