A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to a “kind” and “loving” dad following his death in December.
Police were called at around 6.40pm on December 9, to reports of a man in the water in Bridge Street, Taunton, .
Kevin Thorne was pulled from the water by a member of the public
Officers arrived within five minutes to find a member of the public had pulled 49-year-old Kevin Thorne from the water.
He was given first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital. Sadly, he died in the late hours of December 22.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail.
believe the man and the woman were known to each other and have confirmed there is no wider risk to the public.
Paying tribute, his family said: “Kevin was a son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and a friend to many. He was kind and caring and would help anyone if he could.
“He was loved not only by his family but by everyone who knew him.
“Losing Kev has been a massive shock to his family and friends and he will be sadly missed by all.
“Our family is devastated to have lost Kev at just 49. He was taken from us far too soon.”
His family are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.
Avon and Somerset police have confirmed the remains ongoing.
