A DAD has died after being hit by a cop car on a 999 call near a London tourist attraction as his devastated wife pays tribute.

His wife, Celene Clark, has released a heartbreaking tribute saying her “heart is completely broken”.
“He was a loving husband, a devoted father to our baby daughter, a son, a brother, and a deeply cherished friend. His death has left a profound and lasting void in our lives,” she told The Mirror .
Australian national David who lived in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire was fatally hit when crossing the road just after 12.30am.
The Met officers were responding to a 999 call just after midnight when the man was knocked down by Borough Market in Bridge.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said as the driver of the first police car passed through the junction at Great Suffolk Street and Trinity Street when the incident occurred.
Paramedics desperately tried to save him, but he tragically died at the scene.
The IOPC launched an investigation after police reported the collision and say they have obtained and reviewed CCTV and police body worn footage.
IOPC Director Amanda Rowe said: “Our deepest sympathies are with Mr Clark’s family and friends both in the UK and in Australia, and everyone affected by his death.
“We have met with his family to advise them of our investigation and they will be provided with regular updates. They have requested privacy at this difficult time.
“Given a member of the public has died in an incident involving police, it’s important that an independent investigation is carried out to establish the full circumstances.
“Our investigation is in its early stages and the officers involved are currently being treated as witnesses.”
