A TWISTED man allegedly kidnapped his ex-lover and hurled her over a motorway bridge – before jumping to his death.

The suspected murder-suicide unfolded at around midday after Federico Vella, 36, lay in wait for Lorena Isceri, 46, at her home in Florence, Italy.

Police said the car rental manager waited in the garage at his ex-girlfriend’s house before pouncing when she came home for lunch.

He reportedly beat Lorena, zip-tied her legs and stuffed her in the boot of her own Audi, before driving off.

Desperate to escape, Lorena secretly dialled the police with a phone she found in a rucksack in the boot of the car.

As Vella cruised north towards Bologna, Lorena told operators she had been kidnapped and tried to share her location, also giving a description of her attacker.

She also tried, without success, to call her mum and a friend at around 2pm.

Florence authorities traced the signal as it raced down the motorway and dispatched traffic police to intercept the car.

But tragically, Vella noticed that his ex had managed to call the police and reportedly shouted: “What are you doing?”.

Police said he then pulled over at around 2:40pm and snatched the phone from Lorena.

He then grabbed his ex and allegedly threw her off the 131ft bridge.

Horrified cops, who had just arrived on the scene, reportedly screamed: “what have you done?”

He reportedly replied: “She betrayed me, she treated me badly, she attacked me.” Officers said he then leapt to his death.

Both bodies were found on the concrete ground below.

Lorena had worked in marketing for a vet practice where she was described as bright and devoted to her job.

Police have launched a probe into the deaths and have seized the car for examination.

Just hours before the horrifying attack, Federico Vella, 36, had posted a chilling message to social media, writing: “Goodbye to everyone.”

Lorena had broken up with Vella three weeks earlier on August 31.

The day before the break-up, Vella had shared a series of now-sinister posts, writing: “Some instances are so perfect that, even if you separate them, the shape of the other remains with you forever.”
