A CYCLIST has tragically died days after being “deliberately” hit by a car in an alleged drink drive collision.
The victim, in his 50s, has died in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in the crash on Friday, March 8.
It is believed the man was hit by a white CLA 180 Sport car just after 5pm in Norwich.
He sadly succumbed to his injuries on Monday, Police have said.
David Morgan, 40, appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with attempted murder and with excess alcohol.
Norfolk Police said it would consult with the about the charges in the case now that the cyclist has died.
Morgan has been kept in custody and is next due to appear before Norwich Crown Court on June 8.
A Norfolk Police spokesperson said the incident was reported to police “as a cyclist being deliberately hit by a white Mercedes CLA 180 Sport car” just after 5pm on Friday in Chartwell Road.
Anyone with dashcam footage or information on the manner of driving of the white Mercedes before the collision is asked to share this with the Major Team online.
