Cristiano Ronaldo reacts as Al Nassr exit Champions League, to finish season trophyless

Published on May 01, 2025 at 05:10 AM

Al Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has put out an emotional statement after they were dumped out of the AFC Champions League in the semi-finals.

Ronaldo is set to endure another trophyless season in Saudi Arabia, following their 3-2 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in the last four of the competition.

Al-Nassr were eliminated from the King’s Cup in October last year, and they trail Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Ittihad by eight points with five fixtures left this season.

As Ronaldo continues to wait for his first major trophy in Saudi Arabia, he took to social media to thank the fans for their constant support.

The 40-year-old also heaped praise on his colleagues who gave their all on the pitch.

He wrote on X: “Sometimes the dream has to wait. I’m proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch.

“Thank you to all the fans who believed in us and stood by us every step of the way. Your support means the world.”;
