and gathers her best friends to help with son Carl’s 40th birthday photo book.

But as Debbie goes through old photographs with Abi, Bernie, Christina, Sally and Glenda their bonding experience quickly descends into chaos.

Amidst the heated confrontations regarding family history and past trauma, the group struggles to keep the celebration afloat.

ITV teased the drama with a first-look image featuring stars Sue, Jane Hazlegrove, Amy Robbins, and .

Speaking about what’s coming for popular characters, Corrie boss Kate Brooks said: “There’s a lot coming up for these ladies.

“We’ve got a big storyline coming up for Glenda in the New Year which will unpack Glenda as a character, she is a fabulous character and very Elsie Tanner.

“The storyline will run through until March. There will also be a love interest for her. Glenda is in need of some love and it is a really big storyline for Jodie.”

On Christina, played by Amy, she said: “The Lucy storyline is still ongoing and will feature a big climax in the New Year.

“I love Christina and George, that relationship is dynamite, so we’ll definitely be seeing more of that and more of the Shuttleworths as a family.

“Obviously Glenda is George’s sister so we’ll be exploring that dynamic too.

But there’s a lot more twists and turns with the Lucy stuff. “We’ve got some really special stuff coming up for Debbie over the period.

As Debbie’s starts to take hold we will see a decline in her health, and the family starts rallying around, and of course her friends too.

“There’ll still be some laughs and fun along the way but we’ll get to the stage where things get a lot more serious.”

Teasing what’s in store for Abi, played by Sally, she said: “With Abi, we’ll be seeing more of the old Abi but again seeing the different place she’s in now it’s whether or not her friends and family can get her back on track.

She’s in for a bumpy ride and there’s a few curveballs. Her friendship with Debbie is also really key and there’s some big stuff coming up on screen for her.”

Kate says Lucy Parkinson’s dark story will explode in the coming weeks.

The troubled teen, played by Anya Dewin, was fostered by Sally. It was revealed earlier this year that Lucy was responsible for her mum’s death.

She shared: “In terms of the Lucy storyline she’ll also need the support of her friends. It does reach a big climax soon and puts Christina and Sally at the heart of it all.”

Corrie fans can watch the special all- female episode on Monday at 8.30pm.
