Carl Webster, Megan Walsh, Theo Silverton, Maggie Driscoll and Jodie Ramsey were the ones in the firing line, with Theo ultimately getting killed off.

Since he was confirmed as the murder victim, fans have been speculating who did it and why.

Detectives Lisa Connor-Swain and Kit Green will soon begin their rounds of questioning.

Could it have been Todd? Or George? Or Summer? Or maybe someone else entirely?

Well, viewers have quite a while to wait, and producer of the show Kate Brooks has opened up about the whodunnit.

Revealing when the whodunnit will conclude, the explained: “It’s later in the summer.

“We reveal to the audience who it is during late June, July.

“There’s lots of people you definitely think it could be.

“It’s a massive story, there’s so many different twists, and there’s so many different offshoots to the story as well/”

She added: “You think you’re watching one thing, and then it diverts into a completely new kind of story territory. It’ll definitely keep people guessing.”

Kate then gave some hints at what is to come in the soap in the lead up to the whodunnit conclusion.

“It’s Todd rebuilding his life – this is a guy who’s been subjected to the most horrific abuse, who is traumatised, who was grieving,” she said.

“And it’s how he kind of tried to rebuild his life while still kind of struggling to comprehend the fact that this man’s been murdered by potentially somebody he knows or maybe even him.”

She added: “It’s an interesting mix of ‘whodunnit’ thriller story, but also about Todd’s family and friends, George, Christina, Summer, Sarah, all rallying around Todd to make sure that he’s okay, to try and build them and repeat them back together.

“What he’s been through at the hands of Theo has been such an ordeal for him, and to get that love and to get that trust in people again, it was very important to show that with Todd.”

Many fans of the soap have been left disgruntled over how another domestic violence culprit has been killed rather than being punished by the law.

Viewers are saying that the soap is sending wrong message to real life victims in the wake of Theo’s murder.

One fan on X penned: “So they have kept us watching for months, hoping Theo would be punished for the violence, then kill him off. Doesn’t show any hope for real life victims. Writers and producers need sacking.”

Another added: “Just realised all of #Corrie’s domestic abusers over the past decade or so – are now dead.

“Yes, Kirsty was sent to prison but was killed off-screen years later.

“Yasmin was put through hell with Geoff. Todd deserved justice for all Theo did and murder is no proper comeuppance.”

While a third said: “As a lot of people have mentioned on here, it does seem like abusive characters do die on the show and I would’ve loved this to be the case for Theo, he deserved to face justice for everything he done to Todd.”
