CORONATION Street fans are convinced a soap legend is heading back to Weatherfield after sparking rumours of a return seven years after quitting the show.
The former star set tongues wagging with a cryptic video, leaving viewers speculating that a dramatic comeback could be on the cards.

Faye Brookes, who played Kate Connor in , sparked rumours that she is returning to the soap.
The speculation began after the actress shared a cryptic clip on that revealed she will be starting a new job in Manchester.
She said: “I am starting a new job on Monday, I’m doing that really annoying thing where I can’t talk about it yet, but I want to share that I’m going into another job, I’m super excited.
“It’s a role I didn’t anticipate, which means I’m even more excited and scared at the same time.
“It’s a whole new chapter. I’ll be in London until July but I will share the news with you soon. All I’m doing now is in frantic talking with my agent and going over material.
“It’s not really been in my hands that long. I’ve got a bit of time with [husband] Iwan, which is a blessing. We’ve not really had much down time together of late and that’s important when we’re juggling this industry.
“In this calm, peaceful moment, where the doggies are sleeping and I’ve already had my first matcha of the day, I’m getting my head round what’s to come and it’s a lot.
“I’m taking these very quiet moments like little gifts and blessings. It’s crazy but I’m truly grateful because all you want to be is booked and blessed.
“I can’t wait to share more. We’ve got the in-laws coming over for dinner today, we’re going to go out for dinner and have a massive catchup. I haven’t seen anyone in so long.
“It’s all happening, hence why I’m sitting in these calm moments. Have a fabulous weekend and watch this space. All will be revealed!”

Fans were quick to flood the comments section with questions about a possible return, with many convinced the video was a subtle hint that she could be heading back to the cobbles.
One fan commented: “Faye come back to Corrie street”.
Another asked: “Is it EastEnders @faye_brookes”.
A third penned: “Corrie?”
The character was last seen in in 2019 when she left after the devastating death of her partner, Rana Habeeb, who died when the Underworld factory roof collapsed on what was meant to be their wedding day.
Since her departure, the star has had a huge career with starring roles in Chicago, The Sound of Music, Legally Blonde and Shrek: The Musical.
More recently, she was in the play Double Double opposite Corrie co-star .
Faye has previously teased that she could reprise her role as Kate Connor in Coronation Street at some point in the future.
She told The Express: “I get a lot of, ‘Why is Kate not coming back?’ That’s a really lovely thing to have them want me to come back to Coronation Street, because I [Kate] didn’t die. I’m still alive and travelling, and those [were] doors left open.
“That’s an opportunity to be had in itself. I do love being able to play other characters – I really am continuing to stretch myself as an artist, and I want to keep doing that. [But] that door is open, [and] if that is in my journey, then great.
“It catapulted my career, so I never condemn it. I always celebrate it. That’s what the fans are doing for me at the same time.
“I’ve been so lucky to have gained such a lovely following from my time at Corrie – they’ve been nothing but supportive.”
