CORONATION Street fans are convinced a legendary soap couple will pick up where they left off once Claire Sweeney’s character leaves the show.
It could be good could news for Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow shippers as fans believe for the pair to reunite.

Claire, 54, who has played Cassie Plummer on the ITV soap since 2023, recently announced she’s quit the show to take on a theatre role.
Cassie will walk the cobbles until her official exit in the summer.
After the shock news, Corrie fans are convinced that Steve and Tracy – despite their turbulent past – will get back together.
One fan said: “I think Cassie will dump Steve and she and Tracy will stop their bickering and become friends after their reconciliation and she may repair Steve and Tracy’s relationship.”
Another loyal viewer wrote: “The character [Claire’s] has been portrayed badly. I think Tracey and Steve will reunite. I do wonder what her exit plot will be.”
A third fan said: “I think Cassie is an interesting character and I like her ongoing feud with Tracy but realistically she should have faced punishment for nearly killing Ken and robbing him.
“I definitely think they are planning on getting Tracy and Steve back together at the end of all this.”
While it remains to be seen if viewers are right, it has been confirmed that fans are in for a bombshell exit storyline.
A spokeswoman said: “Cassie will be on the cobbles until the summer during which time she will continue to make her presence felt in Weatherfield leading up to a great exit storyline.”
Meanwhile, a source said: “She told bosses early enough that they were able to create an exciting and explosive exit storyline for her.”

Tracy (Kate Ford) made it clear to Steve (Simon Gregson) that their marriage was over back in February 2024.
Steve’s pal Tim Metcalfe and his wife Sally discovered that Tracy had been indulging in a fling with former footballer Tommy Orpington.
And to make it hit even harder, Tommy had been a huge idol of Steve’s for years.
Steve and Cassie became an item last year and Tracy didn’t react well to the happy news – which came as she threw her ex-husband a birthday party.
While Steve and Cassie enjoyed a brief romance, Cassie and Tracy are still embroiled in a bitter ongoing feud.
