A CORONATION Street fan-favourite shockingly collapsed in tonight’s episode before being rushed to A&E.
Actress Sue Devaney was confirmed to have been axed last year and it was soon revealed that her exit would form part of a long-running dementia storyline .



In tonight’s episode Carl is hiding upstairs at number 13 after a night of passion with Abi who has dodged her holiday with Kevin and the boys.
However, while Abi is at the corner shop buying lager for another night of passion with Carl, there is a knock at her door.
With Abi out, Debbie let’s herself in to Abi’s house and starts to do some cleaning while Carl hides upstairs.
But Debbie goes dizzy and collapses on the living room floor .
Carl eventually rushes downstairs and Abi returns home from the shop to find Carl tending to an unconscious Debbie.
But everyone thinks Carl is holidaying in Wales so, as Abi calls an ambulance – Carl goes back upstairs to hide.
At the hospital, Debbie assures Ronnie and Carl that she’s been given the all clear and tells Carl she’s sorry he had to return early from Wales.
However, Debbie then reveals that she is sure she heard Carl while she was unconscious and Carl masks his guilt from his sister.

The Sun previously told how Sue was left devastated over being axed from the show.
News of her exit left the actress blindsided, with a source telling The Sun: “Sue was very shocked when she discovered she was being killed off.
“She was initially very sad and then furious and then upset again.
“It’s taken her a long time to come to terms with it.
“She had no intention to leave the show and couldn’t believe it when they called her in and broke the news.”
She is one of many names to leave the programme alongside Colson Smith , Luca Toolan , Shelley King , Charlotte Jordan , Sue Cleaver , Daniel Brocklebank , Helen Worth , Paddy Bever and Katy Cavanagh .
Meanwhile, a Street legend has revealed he’s working part time in a coffee van – months after saying acting roles have dried up.
He appeared in the ITV soap on and off for over a decade.
Charlie Lawson, 65, played the character of Jim McDonald – dad to Street stalwart Steve (Simon Gregson).
Viewers will remember his tumultuous marriage to Liz (Beverley Callard).
He quit the role in 2000 – but has returned for brief stints , most recently in 2018.
It comes as the actor previously branded 2024 his worst year in the entertainment industry .
Posting on X, Charlie shared a short clip of himself speaking from the coffee van.
He said: “Well folks, welcome to Bridge 19 café, which is on the Macclesfield Canal, going north something or other.
“Saturdays and Sundays, from breakfast time early in the morning until two o’clock.”
He added: “I’m here sometimes, cooking for you so you can get a selfie and all that sort of craic as well.”
