MILLIONS of fans mourn a glamorous granny who has died after shooting to fame via daring lingerie shoots.
Coracy ‘Cora’ Arantes was thrust into the limelight and adored by more than seven million followers after posting videos of her dancing, posing in lingerie and giving beauty tips for mature women.
In one of her most famous clips, she partook in the blazer trend – first appearing on screen in a short dress, before slipping it off on camera, then donning on an oversized blazer with nothing underneath.
The video ends with her posing confidently for the camera.
The 82-year-old was admitted to hospital on August 21 for observation after a suffering a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) crisis.
After almost a week in intensive care, Cora died on Wednesday.
Based in Sao Jose dos Campos, Cora was one of Brazil’s best known elderly influencers.
Gabriel – her grandson and content producer – announced her passing in a post to her followers.
“Today she leaves us… but don’t think she would want to see you crying,” he wrote.
“It was thanks to you that the smile returned to her face.
“I know she would never want to see her loved ones sad,” he added.
Referring to his beloved grandmother as “our star”, Gabriel assured dedicated followers Cora’s account would remain active in her honour.
Tributes for the cherished granny have rolled in through the comments, with one fan typing: “My feelings. Our Cora was and always will be very loved by us.
“May she be with God now, lighting up the sky with her beautiful smile.”
Gabriel showed her how to use TikTok in 2019 in a bid for her to overcome long-term depression, which she had endured for more than 40 years.
Cora had suffered the loss of her husband to cancer years prior and said she’d found new joy in connecting with others online.
Before her internet stardom, Cora had worked as a hairdresser and raised two daughters.
Granny influencers are on the rise, with more and more people in the older generations hopping onto social media.
One such woman is Ruby Murray, from Sunderland in the UK, who became an internet sensation after her granddaughter posted a video of her trying on her holiday outfits.
Lucy Walton, 21, recorded the hilarious video of her stylish nan trying on clothes that were brought for her trip to Ibiza.
Ruby, who used to be a window dresser, strutted her stuff in everything from bikini tops to extra short shorts, making her feel “21 again”.
“It makes my day; we have a right laugh,” she said.
