Before their initial clash in April 2025, he opened up about the meanings behind his tattoos and how fear drives his determination to win.
He explained: “I have ‘Fear is a Lie’ tattooed across my neck. To me, fear is just an illusion. You can fear something that hasn’t even happened.”
“How can you give something power or fear something that hasn’t yet occurred?
“It only exists in your mind — and most of the time, it doesn’t happen anyway.”
That mindset, Benn stated, is what motivates him during every training session. “My fear of losing is what pushes me to train so hard.
“I love winning, don’t get me wrong, but I probably fear losing even more.”
“I train out of fear, I genuinely do.
“I don’t think I could handle losing. I fear it so much that it scares me — and that’s why I put in so much effort.
“If fear is what gets me out of bed at 5 a.m., I’ll do it twice on Sundays if necessary.
“All I can do is give my utmost to ensure that I do not defeat myself.”
