M25 is SHUT due to lorry crash with huge oil spill sparking ‘severe’ hour-long delays & 8 miles of traffic

THE M25 has been shut after a lorry crash – with a huge oil spill sparking “severe”;; hour-long delays.

More than 8 miles of congestion has been reported anticlockwise between J10 (Wisley) and J9 (Leatherhead) in Surrey.

Drivers taking the M25 have been urged to plan ahead following warnings of 60-minute traffic delays.

The crash, which is believed to have involved a lorry, was reported at 7:30 this morning.

National Highways said: “2 lanes (of 4) remain closed on the #M25 anti-clockwise between J10 (#Wisley) and J9 (#Leatherhead).

“Our service providers are currently clearing a diesel spillage caused by the collision. Barrier repairs are also required.

Delays of at least 60 minutes on approach.
