Fluminense centre-back, Thiago Silva has labelled Chelsea forward Joao Pedro as a ‘special’ kid.
The former Paris Saint-Germain captain spoke after Pedro led Chelsea to beat Fluminense in the Club World Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
Two goals from Pedro ensured the Blues defeated the Brazilian side 2-0 in the United States.
Speaking about his fellow Brazilian after the game, Silva told Globo: “This kid is special, I’ve a lot of affection for him.
“A while ago, I recommended him to the people who take care of my physical health.
“I faced him a few times at Chelsea, when he was still at Watford, and he had two great games against us. I said, ‘Man, this kid is special’.
“I did not expect him to be inspired today, he hit some great shots. One of our kids knocked us out of such an important competition, but good luck to him.”;
Pedro only joined the Blues from Premier League side Brighton for £60 million last week.
