Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has reacted to his side facing Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.
Kompany watched as Bayern Munich defeated Flamengo 4-2 in the Round of 16 on Sunday.
A brace from Harry Kane and a goal each from Leon Goretzka and Erick Pulgar (own goal) gave Bayern Munich the victory.
The Bundesliga champions will now tackle the French Ligue 1 champions in the last-8 of the competition next weekend.
Recall that PSG had eliminated the Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami from the Round of 16 after beating them 4-0.
Speaking after Bayern defeated Flamengo, Kompany insisted that his team will be ready for PSG, describing the two clubs as top teams.
“We will assess what we need for that game [against PSG],”; Kompany said at his post-match interview.
“Right now, the most important thing is to rest and rebuild our energy... Two top teams on a big stage, we will be ready for it,”; he stated.
