Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has reacted to his side facing Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.

Kompany watched as Bayern Munich defeated Flamengo 4-2 in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

A brace from Harry Kane and a goal each from Leon Goretzka and Erick Pulgar (own goal) gave Bayern Munich the victory.

The Bundesliga champions will now tackle the French Ligue 1 champions in the last-8 of the competition next weekend.

Recall that PSG had eliminated the Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami from the Round of 16 after beating them 4-0.

Speaking after Bayern defeated Flamengo, Kompany insisted that his team will be ready for PSG, describing the two clubs as top teams.

β€œWe will assess what we need for that game [against PSG],”; Kompany said at his post-match interview.

β€œRight now, the most important thing is to rest and rebuild our energy... Two top teams on a big stage, we will be ready for it,”; he stated.
