FIFA have officially stripped Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City of their Club World Cup titles.

The world football governing body has now ruled that the above three Premier League clubs and all other previous winners like Real Madrid and Barcelona, will now be known as ‘FIFA Intercontinental Champions’.

The Daily Mail reports that FIFA has decided to recognize Chelsea as the first-ever winners of the competition.

This means the Blues are the only team that can be called ‘world champions’.

Enzo Maresca’s men thrashed Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final last week to win the 2025 edition.

The tournament this year was an expanded version that saw 32 teams from six confederations take part.

The Club World Cup will return in 2029, with PSG, Pyramids, Al Hilal and Cruz Azul already qualified after winning their continental championships last season.
