Chelsea threw away a one-goal lead to lose 3-1 to Flamengo in their second fixture at the 2025 Club World Cup on Friday.

The Blues had beaten Los Angeles FC 2-0 in the first game and were looking to book their spot in the knockouts.

Pedro Neto gave the Premier League the lead in the first half after racing clear to make it 1-0.

However, the match turned on its head in the second half, after Bruno Henrique levelled for the Brazilian side.

Flamengo then went ahead through Danilo’s sharp finish before Nicolas Jackson was shown a straight red card for a bad tackle, after only coming on as a substitute to replace Liam Delap.

Wallace Yan added a third as Chelsea crumbled in Philadelphia.
